Christie Crowder: Woman of the Month
Today’s Woman of the Month feature is none other than the wonderful Christie Crowder. You can find her all over the web. Christie is a great coach (I know personally) and author, but before I ramble on about how wonderful she is and basically give a way her interview read her wonderful interview below.
Name: Christie Crowder
Business and/or Blog: My Life – A Work In Progress and The BlogRollers

Tell us a bit about your business? Why did you start this business? What inspired you?
I guess you could say that I have more than one business. I am a certified life coach, an author/blogger, a radio show host, and now a social media enthusiast. But all of those things are centered around empowering women to live their best life. I was inspired by the desire to live my dreams and help others to do the same…even when they think they can’t. I show women by changing negative thinking and their perspective on what it means to live a life you love, they can do what it is in their heart and soul to do! I call it channeling my “inner oprah”.
Tell us a bit about your family life. Are you married? Do you have children? What is a typical day like for you.
I have been married for nine years and have two children. A daughter, Kennedy who is four and a son, Jackson who is two. A typical day? There is no such thing! I wish that I had a cookie cutter day sometimes. My kids and my work are unpredictable and there is never a dull moment in my house. One thing that is constant is laughter! My clients, my show fans, my work colleagues as well as my friends and family always keep a smile on my face. I love surrounding myself with positive people!
How do you maintain your ME in the midst of all that you do?
Well, I have a little mantra…”If mama aint happy, aint nobody happy!” And I also remember that I need to be on my A game to take care of my family. If I am down and out, I am useless to them. With that being said, I put myself in time out (but in a good way). I try every day to take at least 30 min to decompress…either I take a nap, or lay on the sofa and listen to my iPod or treat myself to a snack (ice cream is very soothing)
What are some of the special things that you do when taking time
for yourself?
I think I already answered that kind of. But I also like to meet my gal pals at our favorite nail spot on thurs and get pedicures and free martinis!!
How do you find time in your busy schedule to make time for yourself?
There is no finding it…you have to TAKE it or it just will not happen!
In all that you do, do you feel complete? What would make your life complete?
I do feel very complete in my life. A full time assistant that likes to cook wouldn’t be bad, though
What advice can you give to the readers here at ICM to help them remember to take care of their Me?
Remember these words Superwoman is probably on Prozac and Superman takes Viagra. The grass on your side of the fence is green enough…give yourself a break! If your way works, just do you!
